Our little basketball players

This year we decided to enroll Zach and Alexis into upward Basketball. They LOVE it and want to practice all the time.

We just completed the second game last week.  Zach made some baskets during the game and we were so excited. I loved seeing his arms go in the air with excitement!
I was never one who  played or understood sports as a child but I am sure having fun now seeing my kids enjoy and learn sports.

The New Year has begun

Happy  New Year everyone! What a wonderful start to the New Year. Lot’s of time spent with family and friends!
As much as we truly love taking photos and working our Digi Smiles Photography business, it has been so nice taking a month off from working so we could enjoy the Christmas season!  It was great to have the time to just focus on family, fun and our priorities. Jeff still worked harder than ever at Verizon Wireless The Woodlands store.
Now January is here and we are back living our normal life in full swing, but refreshed and ready!
So this year should be a fun and exciting one. My brother Ryan is engaged and getting married this summer. We are all in the wedding and flying to California for the wedding this summer. My sister Carla is pregnant with her second child, this time a little girl, and due on/around Easter.

Alexis and Zach and I are always kept busy with homeschooling and activities. I teach at the Friday (Super Friday) homeschool group. This is where parents send their children for a few hours each Friday to take classes that us moms may not teach at home. I am currently teaching two drama class there. I also teach a drama/music class in my home each Friday afternoon. I really enjoy it.

Currently the kids schedule is busy but not  crazy. I am trying hard to keep everything balanced but boy it is so hard to be disciplined enough to say no to some fun activities. Zachary and Alexis are both on a basketball team, They are both apart of a kids musical at our church, Zachary is learning the guitar and they both go to my Friday drama class.

For me  I try to fit a few trips to the gym each week. I also am trying to go to bed earlier. That is the toughest one for me. Jeff  works a whole lot but he is so awesome at giving truly every second he has to the family. What a great, fun and loving daddy and husband I am blessed with, I am so thankful!  This year we celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary!

All in all I believe this will be  a full and exciting year. With every day we are blessed with… our prayer is that we make the choices the Lord is directing us to make. We pray that our focus is on Him and what the Lord has for our year. Like all of you, it is easy to have an idea of what this year could look like.  But God is bigger that us and his plans are better than ours, we want him to be in control and  we look forward to the journey and seeing where God takes us this year and the years to come.

Fun day outside

With the relitives all still here we decided to continue with some fun outdoor activities. Today the weather was not as cold as it had been. It was however very dark and cloudy but nice enough to go to the zoo and spend some time shooting and Carla’s back yard.

The kids started the day  trying out their new BB guns. They really enjoyed this. I shot a few shots and I must say it was a lot of fun.

The time at the zoo was so relaxing. Before entering the zoo we had a wonderful walk exploring Herman park.
