Crystal’s fly’s to California

We adopted our dog Crystal this past October and since then she has truly become part of our family.  So when we booked a 5 week long trip to California there was no plan to leave her with a dog sitter. She was coming with us.

We figured it was about the same price anyways. either way it was expensive like a 5the person but worth it. Zach and Alexis loved having her with us on my parents property. Crystal loved my parents land to run on. My mom was gracious enough to let her sleep in the back pourch. She is not an animal person so her even allowing the dog halfway inside was a extra treat. I think Crystal grew on my mom by the middle of the trip.

Our first weekend there my parents cat had it out for Crystal. Crystal is friends with a few cats in our neighborhood so she kindly walked up to my parents cat “Latte” to great her. Latte was not to pleased with Crystals arrival and clawed Crystal in the eye. Her eye was cut and so off to the animal hospital I went. $150 later Crystal was on her way to saving her eye with three different meds. the Doctor said it was pretty bad.

The rest of the trip wend smoothly for Crystal.

Craft time with Grandpa

I know I have said it before but boy am I blessed to have parents and relatives who invest so much into our children’s lives. Zachary loves to build and create things. Sometimes it can be difficult to find crafts that are3 better suited for a boy. Our trip to the local craft store was a success, we purchase a few 3D puzzles. zachary absolutely loved making thes with grandpa. i was so glad that grandpa took over. My first try at it caused them an hour extra work rearranging all the pieces. They truly spent hours building these together.

Sewing with Grandma

If any of you know my mother Viola then you know that she is an expert seamstress, designer and sewing instructor. Since Alexis was2 she has watched Grandma sew outfits for her and her dolls. This Summer Alexis really wanted to sew something. My mom thought she was ready to start. My mom (Grandma) brought Alexis to her sewing room to choose some fabric for her creation. For Alexis’s first product my mom had her make a double sided doll blanket. My mom was very impressed with how well she guided the needle and worked the peddle. She with do doubt will grow to be a better seamstress than me. It was such a joy to watch Alexis enjoy her project so much and I was also amazed by how focused and detailed she was. My mom was truly having her do everything. I am so blessed to have a mom who constantly invests so much into my children. Alexis can hardly wait for her next project.

Family Photos, with a tri-pod!

On our month long trip to Texas we decided to bust out the tri-pod and take a family photo of ourselves. I must say it is difficult not being behind the camera. I also noticed a few things I would have changed if I was behind the camera and seeing what was being Photographed. But even with all that said I am very happy with our own session and love the perfectly imperfectness of it!

The photo was photographed on one of the many wonderful walking/biking trails in Folsom Ca!

My sentimental sweet son

my sweet son Zachary. He calls me into the back porch of my parents house and says, “listen there are wasps in the wall.” He then says. “If I had a facebook acct I would post.”

“Listening to the sound of wasps in the wall and reminiscing about how I hear that same noise at home when the speaker system is not fully shut off. I miss that. I is music to my ears”

I though that was oh so cute!
