“Countdown to Christmas” ~ day 19 -20

The last few days have been wonderful just enjoying my parents company and relaxing. We watched a few movies. I actually  made time to visit the gym.  I have not taken as many photos over the past few days.  On Sunday my kids and all the kids I teach preformed at Church in the “Truth in Motion” mini Christmas Production, The kids all did great! Then we helped my sister get ready for a big party she was hosting. We even had a ride on a hay-less trailer ride around the neighborhood to see all the Christmas lights. It was fun but boy was it cold.On Monday we baked some and went to the Crazy Christmas Puppet show.

“Countdown to Christmas” ~ day 17

The Grandparents have arrived!!!

My kids have been awaiting this day for a long time now. They actually think the grandparents are arriving next Tuesday but when my wonderful parents heard the kids were proforming in a little show at church the decided to change their flight so they can see them. I decided to keep it a surprise. The surprise went perfectly. Since my parents were flying into Hobby airport and do not recognize that area they had no idea. Soon as we drove into the pick up curb my parents were waiting and waiving at the van. The kids saw them and were stunned and super happy. After picking them up we took them to The Chocolate Bar We splurged and ate very yummy treats at this place. It was a wonderful evening together.

“Countdown to Christmas” ~ day 15

Today was a fun day. After a good morning homeschooling the wonderful Wheeler girls came over to make some crafts and some reindeer cake pops with us. Since the Cinnamon ornaments needed time to dry and bake we made them before they arrived. Forgot to take photos as they were decorating the ornaments but we got one group shot in before they ate the yummy cake pops.

Cinnamon Christmas Ornament

1/2 cup ground cinnamon
1/3 cup applesauce
¼ cup flour
1 Tbs. Tacky glue

Mix in bowl and stir until well blended. Work mixture in hands for three minutes to form a ball. If it is too dry, add applesauce, if too wet, add more cinnamon or flour. Knead ball on cinnamon-sprinkled surface until it holds togehter well. I roll this out and use cookie cutters for the shapes. I also use a drinking straw to cut a hanging hole. These can be air dried for 24 to 48 hours. Turn several times. They can also be baked in a slow oven. Decorate with puff paint or however you like.
